What is the Godhead?

In this episode, we explore the concept of the Godhead, often referred to as the Trinity in Christian theology. We discuss its foundational aspects: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three divine, coeternal persons united as one God in nature, character, and purpose. The episode unpacks theological perspectives like Arianism, Modalism, and Tritheism, highlighting their differences from the traditional understanding of the Trinity.

We delve into why the Godhead exists, emphasizing that love is central to its nature. Drawing from scriptures like 1 John 4:7–8 and 1 Corinthians 13:4–8, we see how love defines God's essence and binds the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in eternal relationship.

The episode addresses common questions, such as:

  • Are there many Gods or just one?
  • How does the Bible describe the Godhead as distinct persons?
  • How did the Godhead collaborate in creating the world?

Through passages like Genesis 1:26–27 and Matthew 28:19, we uncover how humanity was created in God's image, reflecting His character and purpose. Additionally, we explore the Godhead's mission to restore humanity's original divine likeness and reestablish an intimate relationship with us.
